Halloween Decorating!

Halloween Decorating!

Who is ready for fright and delight!? Halloween is upon us and decorating for this holiday is by far my favorite. Every October I look forward to shopping for or making a few new items to add to my Halloween stash. Something about the colors, silhouettes and scents of this holiday gets me excited! I hope the following ideas inspire you to create eerie charm inside and outside your home!
R.I.P ( Read in Peace)!
Let's start with the outside of your home. Create a welcoming curb appeal that is spooky yet simple. A wreath or personalized door hanger is perfect to start with.
Adding real or faux pumpkins as well as bats, ravens, head stones and skeletons help to add to the spooktacular vibes.
Lanterns or string lights set the mood when it gets dark. Mums or some type of greenery can pull it all together.  One of the new items I added this year was light up faux hay bales from Bed,Bath and Beyond.
They are reusable, not messy and easy to store. I bought real hay bales last year and I was sweeping up hay forever! These faux bales can be used to layer your pumpkins, lanterns and greenery.

Now to spread the creepiness to the inside of your home. There are so many opportunities to create a bewitching theme. The best tip I ever heard was to shop your house first before you buy. You probably already own vases, trays to corral pumpkins and plate stands to place pumpkins on. A grouping of pumpkins wearing masks on a tray is an easy centerpiece.
You can put a skull under a glass cloche for a scary addition.

Garlands whether they are pom pom, words or fabric add the perfect touch to any table or bookcase.
Pillows are another item you already have. You can purchase a solid pillowcase at Hobby Lobby and have the words spooky or wicked put on them or the silhouette of a raven, witch or pumpkin face would be fun also. (We can help you with this!) The Wicked pillow was my new addition this year!

Halloween demands fright but elicits fun. These tricks will help you treat yourself to filling your home with Halloween spirit!

Happy Haunting!
